RHODODENDRON CAT LEES DARK
Grower Notes:

Rhododendron catawbiense 'Lee's Dark Purple' is commonly referred to as Lee's Dark Purple Rhododendron. This hardy, compact evergreen shrub features wavy-edged, deep green, elliptical leaves with deep purple buds that open to trusses of showy dark purple flowers in late May and early June. It is quite hardy but does benefit from protection from the winter wind.

Lee's Dark Purple Rhododendron thrives in partial shade in acidic, evenly moist, well-drained soils. It will not tolerate soggy ground so raised beds are best. It can grow in full sun in cooler, more forgiving climates. Any pruning should be done right after flowering.
